01Who we are
LastHouse (“LastHouse,” “we,” “us”) makes the LastHouse Meeting Guide app for iPhone and Android (the “App”) and runs lasthouse.co (the “Site”). LastHouse helps people find recovery meetings and keep track of their recovery. This policy covers both the App and the Site.
02What stays on your phone
Some of the most personal parts of LastHouse never leave your device:
- Sobriety tracker. Your start date, what you’re tracking, your day count, and your milestones are stored on your phone and are not sent to our servers. Deleting the App deletes them. (See section 4 about session recordings.)
- Saved meetings, settings, and a location you pick by hand are stored on your phone.
- Milestone reminders are scheduled on your phone. We don’t run a server that sends them.
- Calendar. If you add a meeting to your calendar, the App asks permission and adds that one event. It doesn’t read the rest of your calendar.
03What you choose to send us
We only receive personal details when you decide to send them:
- Contact form (in the App or on the Site): your name, email, and message.
- Reporting a problem or requesting verification of a meeting: the meeting and whatever details you write.
- Submitting a new meeting: the meeting’s details, including online links and passcodes, and the group’s contact name, phone, or email if you add them. Meeting details, including a group contact you provide, may appear on the meeting’s public listing. If you add your own name or contact details, we use them only to follow up with you.
- Requesting meetings in your area: the city and program, and, if you want us to follow up, your first name, email, or phone.
These messages arrive in our team email. We use them to reply to you and to keep meeting listings accurate.
04What the app collects automatically
Location (optional)
If you allow location access, the App uses your phone’s location to find meetings near you and sort them by distance. Your location is sent with that search so our servers can find nearby meetings. We don’t save it or keep a location history. You can turn location off at any time in your phone’s settings and choose a city instead. When you search for a place by name, the text you type is sent to Google’s Places service to find it.
Session recordings and diagnostics
We use LogRocket to record how the App is used, so we can find bugs and fix confusing screens. Recordings include the screens you view and the taps you make, along with technical details: your device model, operating system, app version, network requests, errors, and IP address, which can indicate a general location. Because recordings capture what appears on screen, they can include meeting details, text you type into forms, or your day count. Recordings aren’t tied to your name, since we don’t ask for it, and we never use them for advertising.
Maps
Maps in the App are provided by Mapbox. Mapbox receives requests for the part of the map you view and may collect usage and location data under its own privacy policy.
App stores
Apple and Google share aggregate statistics with us, such as downloads and crash counts, under their own terms.
05Our website
- lasthouse.co doesn’t use cookies, advertising, or third-party analytics.
- Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver and protect the Site.
- Some links and QR codes we hand out, such as those on printed posters, pass through a short redirect. When one is used, we record that it was opened, the type of device, the browser’s user-agent, and a one-way hash of the IP address (not the address itself). This tells us which materials help people find LastHouse.
- A shared meeting link (lasthouse.co/m/…) shows that meeting’s public details. Opening one doesn’t tell us who you are.
- The Site’s contact form works as described in section 3.
06How we use information
- To show meetings near you and keep listings accurate.
- To reply to your messages and act on your reports and submissions.
- To find and fix problems and to make the App and Site work better.
- To keep the App and Site secure.
We don’t sell or rent information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
07Who we share it with
We use service providers to run parts of LastHouse. They handle information only to provide their service to us:
- Convex, our database and servers
- Vercel, which hosts the Site
- LogRocket, for session recordings and diagnostics
- Mapbox, for maps
- Google, for place search and our team email
- Apple and Google, which distribute the App
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if we believe it’s needed to protect someone’s safety.
08How long we keep it
- Messages, reports, and submissions: as long as we need them to reply and to maintain listings. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
- Session recordings: for a limited period under LogRocket’s retention settings, then deleted.
- Server logs: briefly, as our hosting providers keep them.
09Your choices
- Use LastHouse without an account and without giving us any personal details.
- Turn off location in your phone’s settings and choose a city instead.
- Remove your tracker data and saved meetings by deleting the App.
- Ask us what we have from you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@lasthouse.co.
10Security
Information is encrypted in transit and stored with providers that use industry-standard security. No system is perfectly secure, which is one more reason we collect as little as we can.
11Children
LastHouse is for people 12 and older. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
12Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we’ll also note it in the App or on the Site.
